Ever have one of those days where you just wake up in a good mood? That happened to me today and it was really nice to float around on good vibrations. Happy Friday.

I’ve been playing a lot with logo ideas and I can run the gamut, from flirty with a splash of whimsy to clean and no nonsense. Today I keep going back to peachy pink colors and carnival vibes. This was the vibe many years back at the Atelier Chardon Savard defile. While studying photography in Paris, we collaborated with this fashion school on a weekly basis. Their year end fashion show was at the Cirque de Hiver near the Bastille, which is an amazing venue! Definitely on par with the feeling of whimsy. Runway photos are runway photos are runway photos…I personally had a lot more fun capturing the chaos and frenzy of what was happening backstage.

I heard Thelonious Monk version of ‘April in Paris’ this morning on KUT.org and it made me wish I was sitting in a cafe near Place de Vosges watching the people go by…so I reached deep into my archives and found this photo I took one day after doing just that.
For the record, my fave version of that song has Sarah Vaughn singing, which you can listen to here. She was one of my main soundtrack’s while I lived there.
“…God knows, when spring comes to Paris the humbles mortal alive must feel that he dwells in paradise….it [is] the the intimacy with which his eye rests upon the scene. It [is] his Paris. A man does not need to be rich, nor even a citizen, to feel this way about Paris. Paris is filled with poor people – the proudest and filthiest lot of beggars that ever walked the earth… And yet they give the illusion of being at home. It is that which distinguishes the Parisian from all other metropolitan souls. – Henry Miller
